What is SSH?

SSH is a protocol for creating a secure connection between two online computers. Secure SSH connectivity provides authentication and data encryption as well as compression.

The SSH protocol is defined by the Secure Shell IETF Task Group (secsh) and designed as a substitute for the telnet application.

In your VPS, you have root access via SSH. You have all the administrative rights to be able to manage your VPS root and even to restart it.
