Atari, in partnership with Pqube, announced the availability of two new consoles based on the Atari 2600. The stand-alone console version called Retro Handheld Console includes a 2.4-inch analog gamepad and screen. On the outside, it will feature the classic wooden look and on the front side, apart from the analog lever, you will find two face buttons as well as Start and Select buttons.
The Retro Play and Play Joystick, on the other hand, has the same look as the original controller and you’ll be able to connect it to your TV via the A/V Out cable or the HDMI adapter. These video inputs are also supported by the portable version. The Joystick will be featured with an extra button at the top and the classic Start / Select buttons. Both consoles will incorporate 50 Atari 2600 games such as Asteroids, Breakout, Circus Atari, Centipede, Missile Command and Pong.
Atari Retro Handheld and Retro Plug and Play Joystick will be released on October 26 and will cost 38 euros and 27 euros respectively.
